About a week ago I bought a Sony VAIO VGN-NR360E/S very inexpensive and awesome quality. Since I really dislike Windows Vista for very obvious reasons (that it really really sucks), I installed Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 and the installation was smooth. I had no problems at all, wireless works and the graphics driver too. Well, not completely but the effects work and also compiz-fusion works awsome.
The only resolution that I have now is 1280x800 but that's fine for me. I'm happy with the rest. I haven't tried the rest of the hardware like the SD Memory card slot an the Memory Stick slot, but I think the Sony MS won't work because it's propietary. But the rest works.

It´s good to know you´re into ubuntu. I find it very stable and easy to deploy. I used it to hack into the iusacell bam card.
